A 60-year-old woman came to us with serious symptoms that disrupted her daily life. She experienced significant left-side weakness, struggled with even dragging her left foot, and had a notably weakened grip in her left hand. These symptoms went on for ten days, causing her severe pain.
As Neurosurgery specialists to understand the cause of her problems, we conducted an MRI. The scan revealed the presence of a brain tumor on the right side of her brain, located near the regions that are responsible for controlling motor functions on the left side of her body. This explained the reason for troubling symptoms and highlighted the urgency for immediate treatment procedure called brain tumour surgery .
We decided to perform a surgical procedure in which a portion of the skull is removed to access the brain that is called craniotomy which is actually brain tumour surgery to remove the tumor. The brain tumour surgery was complex, but we successfully achieved near-total decompression of the tumor. The results were impressive.
Following the surgery, the patient showed significant improvement. She regained the strength back in her left hand, allowing her to grip objects firmly once again. Additionally, she was able to walk without dragging her left foot, marking an impressive recovery from her pre-surgery condition.
This case is a classic example of how early diagnosis and timely treatment of brain tumors can lead to excellent recovery and better outcomes. Correct medical treatment by a Neurosurgeon in Thane, Dr. Bharat Shine not only cured her symptoms but also restored her quality of life.
